It is never easy training with a monster like Khamzat Chimaev. Looks like welterweight veteran Neil Magny had a taste of how it feels like to train with “Borz” recently. From the looks of him in photos and videos from the training session, things didn’t seem to go too well for Magny.
Many fighters who have shared the training room with Khamzat Chimaev have admitted that it is impossible to train at the level of the Chechen fighter. “Borz” has taken over the UFC by storm and has walked the talk. To back the crazy talk on the microphone, Chimaev has the skills. Neil Magny, once a potential opponent for Chimaev recently trained together with the superstar.
Videos from the training session show Chimaev handling Magny on the mat with almost no effort. Magny is seen tapping out to one of Khamzat’s slow strangle chokes. While Magny looks worn out, Chimaev seems to enjoy his time on the mat with the veteran like it is a stroll in the park. Fans were surprised by the difference in level between the two fighters.
Not long ago, Magny was ready to take on Khamzat Chimaev when almost the entire division did not want to take on the fighter from Chechnya. Khamzat Chimaev is coming off a win against Kevin Holland at UFC 279. The welterweight fighter is very close to fighting for the title at 170 pounds but his trouble with making weight is very concerning which makes it uncertain if he will continue as a welterweight or move up to fight in the middleweight division.
