UFC Vegas 77 features the women’s bantamweight bout as the main event. Former world champion Holly Holm takes on Mayra Bueno Silva in the five-round main event bout. However, fans expressed disappointment due to the card’s lack of name value. Ailin Perez took it upon herself to entertain the fans and twerked live on air after dominantly defeating her opponent at UFC Vegas 77.

MMA female fighters have a history of doing something similar. The bantamweight fighter used her wrestling to pressure Ashley Evans-Smith continuously. She landed ten takedowns from 15 attempts and dominated her opponent from start to finish. Evans-Smith is a veteran of the sport but could not resist the pressure from Perez. The judges scored the contest 30-26, 30-25, and 30-25 to score the fight unanimously in favor of Perez.

Ashley Evans-Smith is famous for defeating the transgender fighter Fallon Fox in an MMA bout. She has now lost three straight in her MMA career. Part of that could be because of her declining age. She is not a young fighter anymore and may be declining as a fighter. After the loss, she might either consider retirement or the UFC might cut her for losing three times in a row.

After her victory, she twerked live on air, which may not have sat well with most fans. However, her stock went up due to the dominant performance and the surprising act she did after her victory. The women’s bantamweight division has remained wide open since the departure of former champion Amanda Nunes. Anyone can make a case for contenders if they can win convincingly.
