Former Light Heavyweight Champion, Glover Texeira (33-8) is scheduled to fight Jamahal Hill (11-1) at UFC 283. In an interview, Texeira expressed his intent to put on a great fight and claim the gold this Saturday for the third time in his career.
The Brazillian fighter was previously scheduled to fight Jiri Prochazka at UFC 282 for the LHW title but later canceled due to an injury that would keep Jiri out for 9 months. The LHW title was hence, vacated by Jiri Prochazka.
At his home crowd, the Brazillian fighter expects fireworks and adversities against Jamahal Hill. However, Glover Texeira revealed feeling unappreciated by fans more than other fighters because of their ability to talk.
“I’m not a talker. I don’t have that gift. Unfortunately, that’s what sells. I’m old school. I bring the fight. It’s sad that people don’t like that. You can tell by my followers. A lot of guys don’t fight the way I fight, they haven’t done half of what I have, but they have many more followers than me,” said the former LHW champ in his interview with Combate.
