UFC 300’s expected card is to deliver a loaded lineup for the promotion’s historic event in April. Taskmaster Dana White has been trying to nail down the long-awaited UFC 300 main event announcement. But it’s been a lot harder than he imagined. During a recent sitdown at the ‘Full Send‘ podcast, White reiterated things being wilder than ever. And such a notorious sentiment would be incomplete without Conor McGregor in the mix.

Despite veteran Tony Ferguson bursting fan expectations on a square-off with the Dubliner, McGregor himself has added more to the UFC 300 hype, with strings of tweets. Even old rivals like Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz have advocated their tetralogy/trilogy bouts as what the UFC 300 card needs. Currently, the former 2-division champion gets inserted into the talks yet again, but in an unexpected premise.

A theory by @CoopMMMA on UFC 300 fight forum chat boards instigated that the main event may see an announcement soon. That too via a Super Bowl commercial; @VerdictMMA reiterated as such on X. Accordingly, a prime reaction read – “Dana is not paying superbowl ad prices“. And fans do not think otherwise.

Earlier this week, White told Pat McAfee that there’s no date set for McGregor to return to the Octagon against Michael Chandler, saying it hopefully happens “in the fall.” The presumptions from fan accounts come to light on McGregor, who himself teased a possible Super Bowl announcement on his IG stories.

Sean Strickland vs. Dricus Du Plessis/Mayra Bueno Silva vs. Raquel Pennington for the vacant women’s 135lbs title has already happened at UFC 297, Alexander Volkanovski vs. Ilia Topuria at featherweight happens at UFC 298. Concurrently, Sean O’Malley vs. Marlon Vera for the bantamweight title is at UFC 299.

With Dana White teasing a new possible weight class, the promotion can go a few ways. And most of them include the fan-favorite Irish former champ. However, here’s how fans have reacted to UFC hosting a Super Bowl jumbotron announcement for such –

Dana White maintains the habitual trend of announcing key matchups via social media and IG lives. So fans haven’t acclimated to the fact that he might book a multi-million dollar Super Bowl treat for fans.

Announcing during Super Bowl intermissions is a practice many sports indulge in. However, combat sports promotions like UFC do not tend to do so; fans have alluded to that. They have pointed to this as being a deficit of the management.
