If Jiri Prochazka wasn’t already a fan-favorite, his recent actions following his unfortunate injury ahead of his title fight at UFC 282 have made the fans fall in love with him more.
Earlier today, Jiri Prochazka himself broke the news that he was brutally injured and is forced to pull out of his title fight rematch against Glover Teixeira at the UFC 282 pay-per-view event. This was one of the most anticipated title fights of the year and it was a massive blow to the promotion losing a title fight just weeks before the actual blockbuster event.
Unlike most of the champions, Prochazka has decided to vacate the light heavyweight title given he will be out for a long time. The reason behind this decision of his is that Prochazka feels he does not have the right to hold up the entire division until he makes his return. Instead, the fighter has decided to give up his light heavyweight belt and fight for it once he is back in the octagon.
The Czech fighter is a newly crowned champ and was in preparation to make his first-ever title defense in the UFC. Unfortunately, his injury has turned out to be a major setback. Despite being bummed about the fight cancellation, Prochazka is being praised all over Twitter for his decision to vacate the light heavyweight title.
Twitter praises Jiri Prochazka for giving up his light heavyweight title
Jiri Prochazka has always emulated his personality and his discipline from Japanese Samurai warriors. The fighter breathes the famous Bushido Code of the samurai and tries to live by their lifestyle. Many fans hilariously speculate that one of the main reasons Prochazka has given up his title is probably because the Bushido Code condemns it. Check out some of the best reactions on Twitter.
Callin it right now. Jiri Prochazka had a training accident and hurt himself and is vacating his title because straight up bushido code. He feels he brought shame upon his ancestors for withdrawing from a fight and doesnt believe he has the right to hold a title he cannot defend.

Jiri Prochazka’s “Samurai” personality and way of living have truly won over the masses. The fighter’s personality stands out among the rest of the roster. There is no doubt that the fans will be anticipating his return. Magomed Ankalaev and Jan Blachowicz will now headline the UFC 282 event with the title at stake.
