Kay Hansen, who used to fight in the UFC, recently announced her new documentary on Instagram. In there, she discloses details regarding her troubled childhood and how fighting and MMA provided her an out from that.
Hansen holds a professional record of 7-6. She last fought in the UFC in April of 2022 against Piera Rodriguez, which ended in a loss for Hansen. She now will fight in the Invicta FC, which is an all-professional women’s mixed martial arts promotional company.
Hansen no longer has a UFC contract, but what she does have is a story. In her documentary, she talks about her childhood in a sexually abusive household and her journey through MMA. “My successes and struggles have all been in the public eye for many years, but everyone has a story behind the scenes,” she says.
Kay Hansen was allegedly raped/sexually assaulted for years as a teenager. “Fighting/training was my escape, and the only form of reality I really had control over,” she wrote in her Instagram caption. In an interview, Hansen mentioned that she said she was “sexually assaulted and raped by a family member from 16 years old to 19 years old.”
The alleged abuser remained anonymous until now because Hansen feared the consequences of such an action in the future. But now she wants to enable and inspire other people trapped in similar situations to come out with their stories.
Kay Hansen and Jon Jones: Kay admits Jones is the GOAT
Jon Jones is one of the greatest fighters to ever step foot in the Octagon. He is also one of the most controversial fighters in the organization, having multiple criminal offenses against his name. Jones once managed to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame and get arrested on the same night.
He recently pulled off another great feat. He came back to the octagon after three years and defeated Ciryl Gane in the first round to claim the UFC Heavyweight title in his debut fight in the division. Hansen, who has previously trolled Jon Jones, recently admitted that he might be the GOAT.
Recently in a Q&A session on Twitter, a fan asked Hansen, “Dream fight? your goat (s)?” Hansen replies to the question by stating that she loves “tough matchups.” As for who she thinks is the greatest in the sport, Hansen includes ‘Bones’ on her list stating, “Hmmm GSP, Jones (unfortunately lol), and Anderson Silva maybe.”
