“Much respect to that man,” Former UFC champion Conor McGregor praises Zion Clark after his debut victory

Zion Clark absolutely shook up the MMA world this month, after his debut MMA win, championing the case of overcoming adversity to achieve what it is one truly desires.
For anyone who hasn’t heard or seen the clip doing the rounds, Zion Clark is a wrestler born without legs, who just partook in his first-ever MMA fight against Eugene Murray. Despite the rare birth disorder, the wrestler was able to showcase his athleticism with a win over Murray. In the video that has been posted of the fight, Clark’s tenacity could be witnessed in the video as he immediately goes in for a takedown on his opponent and even secures it.
Perhaps the most inspiring moment of all is when Clark, waiting in anticipation gets his hand raised, as the decision win is given in his favour. A landmark win for Clark, and also a landmark win for the sport of MMA. Hence, it didn’t take long for the stars to come out in praise of him.
Conor McGregor, ever the bright pioneer in the sport, took to Twitter, to write, “Absolutely fascinating to hear about this man’s debut and now see it. Lighting entry on the low single. Wow! You should not connect to him in any shape or form. Frames only. Frame to strike. Fascinating! Congrats and so much respect to that man Zion Clark! Mma is the best sport!”

Conor McGregor’s praise for Zion Clark’s landmark achievement doesn’t stop with a single tweet
Fans might be used to seeing Conor McGregor parade his wealth, or target Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirier using his social media, especially his Twitter. However, his vehement praise of Clark should come as no surprise, given how attached the star is to the sport.
He further tweeted in admiration and also akin to an analyst of the sport, “Can’t kick as he is grounded opponent. The only way to stop him is to develop ko ending shots mid transitions in grappling. Very few on the planet possess this skill. And to 3/4 way downward punch a jab there is just no power. Look at opponents attempt before the shot. Wild!”
Capping off the praise, McGregor wrote, “Absolutely legendary”, highlighting Zion Clark’s achievement once again. Having work so hard to wrest itself out of a niche, achievements like Zion Clark’s show that the sport is also moving towards becoming highly inclusive.
