After UFC Vegas 67, Dana White revealed that Francis Ngannou’s run in the UFC has ended. The fans will now watch a new fighter be crowned champion of the heavyweight division at UFC 285. Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane is the next title fight. The UFC boss gave reasons why Ngannou might not have wanted to continue under the UFC banner.

“I think Francis is in a place right now where he doesn’t want to take a lot of risks. He feels like he is in a good position where he could fight lesser opponents and make more money,” said White in his post-fight press conference. Ngannou’s last two wins were against Stipe Miocic and Ciryl Gane.

White, throughout the interview, kept insinuating that the reason behind Ngannou’s failed deal came from the fighter’s side. The UFC boss also did not fail to mention the latest contract offered would’ve made Ngannou the richest heavyweight fighter in UFC of all time.

White throughout the entire presser kept hinting that Ngannou, 36 was not willing to face the “best of all time.” According to White, the Cameroonian heavyweight wants to “fight lesser competition for more money”. Ngannou has previously shown interest in the past about fighting the former light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones.

However, the recently stripped champ was also adamant about not fighting again in UFC with the same contract deal. One fan also pointed out that Dana White was “framing” the Ngannou saga to something that isn’t true. “Dana framing this as Ngannou saying, ‘I don’t want to compete at this level anymore’ is f***ing hysterical,” wrote a fan.

White trying to suggest the fighter who beat arguably the greatest heavyweight of all time was afraid of competition has not sat well among the fans. Francis Ngannou is yet to speak out about the UFC. “The Baddest Man on The Planet” is now free to sign to any organization of his liking.
