After securing the win over Jorge Masvidal, Gilbert Burns is ready to fight again on short notice. After hearing the news about Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush will not be competing against each other in the main event “Durinho” has stepped up to save the day.

And on account of that, Gilbert Burns had already called out Belal Muhammad after hearing the news about the UFC 288 co-main event. Belal Muhammad, who thinks he is ready to fight for the Title earlier, said yes to the fight. Since it is about the welterweight division, Belal had earlier said that he is moving to the middleweight division. But Belal was fighting in the welterweight division earlier, so this is the main reason Burns called him.

Although it looks like on May 6, fans may see a different opponent for Gilbert Burns, as Belal is not ready yet. Belal said he may not be able to make weights. To which Durinho said via Tweet, “That’s the fight game! To call someone out you have to man up and make weight! That’s not the friends game! I’m not your friend! Make weight and we fight!” This tweet is edited one as in the previous version Burns mentioned religion in it.

Earlier, Belal Muhammad was ready to fight against Durinho but as a Muslim Ramadan month influenced him to refuse the fight, he is fasting right now. Back in January 2023, Durinho had tweeted “I will Fight Anyone.” To this Belal replied, “I Too will fight anyone.”

Gilbert Burns is now ready to compete again against anyone

After many callouts, Gilbert Burns made clear that it is about the work, not the religion. The related tweet was deleted by Durinho as he didn’t want to get in trouble because he want to just fight. So after this small Twitter fight or ‘chaos’, Gilbert has come up with a new alternative.

Now Gilbert Burns respectfully asked Dustin Poirier to fight against him at UFC 288. In real fact, Gilbert Burns is fully recovered because he didn’t get much damage from the last fight and is ready to fight again. Right now Dustin Poirier is awaited to give a response to the call out by Durinho.

Many fans have already praised Gilbert Burns as a difficult fighter. This year in 4 months, Gilbert has faced two opponents already and secured the victory. Last time, Khamzat Chimaev gave him a tough fight where Durinho failed to secure the win.
