Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira were all set to run it back for the light heavyweight championship belt in the main event of UFC 275. The first fight between these two was an instant classic, and fans were really excited to watch them fight again.
In a disastrous turn of events, Prochazka suffered a fatal shoulder injury which Dana White defined as the ‘Worst one he’s seen in the history of the company.’ Prochazka vacated the belt, and now Magomed Ankalaev and Jan Blachowicz are fighting for the vacant light heavyweight title.
Glover worked really hard for this rematch, and he’s feeling a little left out with how things turned out. Talking about it, he said, “I’m a happy and grateful man. You know that saying, you do 1,000 things for someone but becomes the worst man if you don’t do one thing? I won’t say that about the UFC, but they really messed up that day.” (Source – MMA Fighting)
Glover Teixeira isn’t interested in the championship fight between Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev

Teixeira openly admitted that he agreed to fight both Blachowicz and Ankalaev, but given that he hasn’t stepped inside the ring with Ankalaev before, he asked for some additional time.
“I spent with a camp and now they took me away from the title fight,” Teixeira stated. “I agreed to fight both guys, the only thing I asked was more time to fight Ankalaev. I’m a high-level fighter and I don’t want to be the guy that goes in there, gets kicked in the arm and goes down just for the money.”
While Teixeira definitely got the shorter end of the stick, Blachowicz and Ankalaev are definitely in luck. Blachowicz has had a taste of gold before, and he was trying to climb back to the top to get another chance at the title. Ankalaev on the other hand accumulated a 9-fight win streak, and now it’s his time to fulfill his dream of becoming a UFC champion.
Glover was asked if he’ll face the winner of Ankalaev and Blachowicz, and his response was rather interesting, he said, “I’m confident of f***ng nothing now. F**k it, I don’t even care who wins”
