Holly Holm and Ketlen Vieira went toe-to-toe against each other at UFC Vegas 55 on May 21. The Vegas card included fighters like Michel Pereira, Chidi Njokuani, and many more. As both fighters fought it out in the Main fight, Holly Holm believes she was robbed in the fight.
Fighting after over a year, Holly Holm showed great spirit in the octagon. The Fight was a close one and many believe it could have gone either way. First-round was not very exciting as Holly controlled Ketlen for five minutes. The second round saw some amazing moments with the Ketlen almost ending the fight by a rear neck chock to Holm. However, Holly held her ground and withstood a brutal submission attempt.
In the end, the fight went to Judges who scored the fight 47-48, 48-47, and 48-47 in favor of Vieira. The decision has stirred controversy on social media and many believe that Holly won the fight. Holly Holm herself believes she did enough to win the fight and expressed her displeasure about the result.
In her post-fight octagon interview, Holm said:” I thought I won the fight. I gave her Round 2, and I feel like I won all the rest of the rounds. I always feel like I can do more and be more perfect, but I thought I won the fight. I don’t feel like it was a question.”

“I had the glory of God here”- Ketlen Vieira believes she won the fight fairly against Holly Holm at UFC Vegas 55
After Holm and Vieira fought each other at UFC Vegas 55, fans are reacting to the controversial split decision victory of Vieira. Many Believe Holly was robbed, and she deserved to win. The fight stats show Holly landed significantly more strikes compared to Ketlen. Holm connected on 183/295 total strikes compared to 104/178 for Vieira. In terms of significant strikes, Holm was 112/219 while Vieira was 63/136.
While the win might be shocking for many fans, Ketlen Vieira believes she won the fight ‘Fair and Square’ against Holly Holm. In her Octagon interview, Ketlen talked about her win and she revealed she was confused by Holly’s game plan.
Talking about the fight and her victory, Ketlen said: “I came here to knock her down. She came here to stall. She’s the ‘Preacher’s Daughter,’ but I had the glory of God here. She’s a great boxer, and because of that, my camp was planned for me to actually grab onto her. But she came tonight looking to grapple, and that was confusing to us. But I knew that God was gonna help me on this night.”
With this win, Ketlen has extended her win streak to 3 and now has consecutive victories over 2 former UFC bantamweight champions: Miesha Tate and Holly Holm and is now looking for a title fight after Julianna Pena vs. Amanda Nunes 2. Holly has now ended her 2 fight streak and is now back to the drawing board. Holm now has to find another way to get back the title that she last held in 2016.
