Holly Holm soundly defeated Yana Santos at UFC on ESPN 43. It was the co-main event fight of the card. Holm returned to the winning column after losing a split decision to Ketlen Viera last year. However, it was not Holm’s victory that captured everyone’s attention. It was her post-fight speech that got fans riled up.
In her post-fight interview with Michael Bisping, she talked about her performances and the impact of her team during training camp. At the end of the interview, she said, “Protect our children“, alluding to various sexualising of children scandals in the United States.
Holly Holm has 15 wins in her MMA career. She also has seven wins in the Bantamweight division of the UFC. In her fight against Santos, she was able to dominate her opponent with her grappling and cruise to a unanimous decision victory. Holm recently signed a new deal to continue fighting in the UFC. She has indicated her desire to compete for the title again. In 2019, she came up short against Amanda Nunes, who knocked her out in the first round.
Holm’s political stand in her post-fight interview will not go down well with the fans and other celebrities. It has had a mixed reaction from the fans. Holm will focus on getting a new opponent to continue her career in the UFC. She can compete again for the title if she can defeat two other contenders.

Regardless of what anyone feels about Holly Holm’s political leanings, fight fans should be excited for what is next for Holm. She is an MMA veteran, competing very well at the age of 41.
