Recently the scuffle between British UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett and  Illia Topuria has gone viral over the internet. It happened in London ahead of their respective fights at UFC London this Saturday.

Topuria released a video of the same on his Twitter where he wrote: 

“This is what happens when you disrespect me and my country! You saw me and wanted to greet me because you shit your pants… and you should thank my team because of it wasn’t for them separating me, I would have taken your head off. @theufcbaddy”

It all started when Paddy Pimblett made a comment about the Russo-Georgian war. Apparently, he made fun of the Georgians who died in the war. This didn’t go well with Topuria and he warned Paddy for the same saying: “He needs to pray that we don’t cross paths because I’ll go crazy.” to MMA Junkie in an interview. That’s exactly what he did when he met Pimblett in London.

Paddy has explained the whole scenario in the YouTube channel My mom’s basement with Robbie Fox. Talking about what happened Paddy said:

“He comes over he saw me on my own… he comes out of the room with six of his boys. He looked at me so I stared at him, obviously, he was chatting sh** the other week on Twitter….he walked at me and said something in Spanish, I don’t know as I don’t understand Spanish and when he got closer I said what happened lad. Then he does this( throws a punch) “

However, paddy claims that he didn’t get hit, rather threw a sanitizer bottle that bounced off Topuria’s head. Moreover, he also Believes that Illia didn’t actually want to hit him as he was afraid of the consequences so he just trained to create a scene.

“I mean if he wanted to do something he could have done. So I stood there with six men, them staring at me and saying ‘what? come and do something’ I’m not one of them.” Said Paddy.

However, Paddy Pimblett had apologized for his comments on the Russo-Georgian war and even deleted the tweets a year ago. But, it seems like Illia Topuria didn’t forget it.
