When one English fighter goes to war, they all do, case in point, boxing’s Tyson Fury rooting for MMA’s Tom Aspinall. Aspinall, one of the most promising English fighters on the UFC roster fighting in the heavyweight division, is going to headline his first UFC main event amongst his home crowd this weekend at UFC Fight Night London in O2 Arena, London. Aspinall, a fighter with a 100% finish rate, is going to face longtime UFC fighter and former Bellator MMA heavyweight champion Alexander Volkov.

Fury, an undefeated boxer, meanwhile is waiting on his fight date of April 23, 2022, when he will face fellow Brit boxer Dillian Whyte in a WBC title unification bout as Fury is the undisputed WBC and The Ring heavyweight champion whereas Whyte is the interim heavyweight champion. Fury is 31-0 as a professional boxer with 1 draw and is widely regarded as one of the most skilled boxers in boxing’s heavyweight history. Fury last fought knockout artist Deontay Wilder in a historic trilogy ending the rivalry in his favour via 11th round KO.

In a video shared by the UFC on their Youtube channel, Fury said: “Hey Tyson Fury here! I just wanna wish my buddy Tom Aspinall all the best in his upcoming UFC heavyweight fight. Good luck Tom, do the business, smash his face in, get up there my boy, all the way to the motherf**king bank man, do it.”

The United Kingdom has been home to numerous fighters of today’s and the gone generation, both from boxing and MMA. While Fury and his upcoming opponent Dillian Whyte, Anthony Joshua, Derek Chisora, Amir Khan, Kell Brook and many more represent boxing, Aspinall, UFC lightweight Paddy Pimblett, UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping, middleweight Darren Till, featherweight Arnold Allen and many others represent MMA.

What do you make of Fury’s wish to Aspinall? Who do you think wins between Aspinall and his opponent Alexander Volkov this weekend? This fight shouldn’t go to the distance for the very reason that both the fighters are extremely seasoned knockout artists with Volkov having more experience on his side whereas Aspinall has the magic of youth. Do you think Fury will ever compete, even for once, in MMA? How do you think he will do?
