Anshul Jubli

Indian lightweight fighter Anshul Jubli is now a step closer to that reality where he can call himself a UFC fighter, but first, he has to get through the next couple of fights. Jubli, who is an undefeated mixed martial artist born in Uttrakhand, is the product of Crosstrain Fight Club with branches in Saket, Noida and Chandigarh. Jubli, formerly a maths teacher, came to Delhi only to give it all to the sport of MMA for the love of it and therefore as a result reigned supreme in the Indian context of the MMA world.

Jubli is popular for his days in the MFN- Matrix Fight Club, whose events are organized by famous Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff and his sister Krishna Shroff. Jubli made his debut in June 2019 when he won decisively against Sanjeet Budhwar at MFN 2. Later on in his career, Jubli went to be known for a TKO win over Rajith Chandran and a submission win in his last fight against Mahommad Mahamoudian. Jubli’s most anticipated bout was the one against Srikanth Shekhar who many believed would give the hardest time in Jubli’s career, or even snatch his undefeated record, but Uttrakhand’s elite came out victorious in that fight as well.

Now, it has been known that India’s Jubli won’t contest in the quarter-finals of Road To UFC, a show that is aiming to give upcoming, promising Asian fighters a huge chance to break through the doors of the world’s premier MMA organization with the fresher competition. This is because Jubli’s opponent “Patrick” Sho Usami from Japan, didn’t make weight. But because of his opponent being at fault, Jubli is set to get into the semi-finals.

Jubli is now set to face the winner of Asikeerbai Jinnesibieke from China and Kim Kyeong Pyo from South Korea. How will you put Jubli against these fighters if you know them? Do you think Jubli is going to be the second Indian-born UFC fighter? Not to forget that Bharat Khandare was the first Indian-born UFC fighter and current ONE world heavyweight champion Arjan Singh Bhullar is the first Indian UFC fighter to have stepped foot inside the Octagon.
