Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev can’t wait to get into the octagon after UFC 280 press conference! Both the fighters had one of the most intense staredowns ahead of their lightweight title matchup.
UFC 280 is all set to go and the pre-fight press conference went down earlier today. The presser was an absolute blast as the stage was filled with stars from the main card. The headliners Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev got into a heated argument and then finished their meeting with an intense staredown.
The fight is set to take place at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi this weekend as the two extraordinary lightweights fight for the undisputed lightweight belt in the main event. The pre-fight press conference was the perfect setup for this glorious fight as the two got to exchange words for the first time on stage.

Charles Oliveira gives an update on his weight cut ahead of UFC 280 weigh-ins
The only worry that fans of Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira would have heading into this fight is the weigh-ins that will soon take place. After the disaster at his previous outing at UFC 273, Oliveira has taken serious precautions to make a successful weigh-in against Islam Makhachev at UFC 280 this week.

After his pre-fight press conference, Oliveira has given the world an update on his weight cut and has tweeted suggesting everything is going according to plan. “Goin’ to cut the last pounds…” wrote Oliveira after several jokes about him failing to make weight in his last fight. Makhachev has also taken several digs at the Brazilian’s weigh-in miss in the lead-up to the fight.
Oliveira in his last title fight against Justin Gaethje at UFC 274, missed weight by half a pound which accounted for him being stripped of the lightweight title. As a result of that, Do Bronx is heading into UFC 280 to challenge for the vacant lightweight belt. How do you think this fight plays out between the Brazilian and Makhachev?
