At UFC 277, Brandon Moreno’s win stole the show and you cannot thank Moreno for putting on a fight without thanking James Krause. Moreno defeated Kai Kara-France in a rematch in the co-main event slot of UFC 277. The win came via third round victory when Moreno landed a powerful body kick that shut Kara-France down, result being him the new interim- UFC flyweight champion. Moreno will be now scheduled to fight Deiveson Figueiredo in their fourth title fight.

Before the fight, Moreno left his original training spot of Entram Gym in order to join Glory MMA & Fitness, where head coach and former UFC welterweight James Krause welcomed Moreno with open arms. Krause has recently announced his retirement from fighting with a major reason being a herniated disk. Krause is known for his wins over the likes of Warlley Alves, Sergio Moraes, Sam Stout and many more.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani at The MMA Hour, Krause talks about retiring from the competitive aspect of MMA and focusing completely on coaching, how did Moreno ended up in Kansas City, feasibility of the making of fighters’ union in the future and much more. Krause begins talking about Moreno’s victory against Kara-France at UFC 277.

“I feel like it’s an amazing thing for me,” says Krause “But I feel like a lot of coaches don’t even ever have this shot, I have been fortunate enough to have three. But I was over going into Satruday night and it was really important to me, obviously the two that I had before were Amanda Nunes and Demetrious Johnson, so they’re not easy goes…

But man Brandon is a special guy and I really enjoy coaching him and I gotta be honest for somebody that is so high level, so high notoriety, he is one of the most humble, coachable people that I ever actually had the pleasure to train and that’s just something refreshing you know you don’t see that often anymore,” concluded Krause.
