The final PPV fight of 2022 came to an uneventful end. Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev who were given the platform to take home a beautiful UFC belt failed to do enough for a glorious end. One of the biggest takeaways from the fight was Blachowicz humbly asking the officials to hand over the belt to his opponent. The Polish fighter blames Joe Rogan for influencing this opinion.

Fighters arent’ always at their best state mentally during UFC octagon interviews. Jan Blachowicz was clearly not at his best during the UFC 282 octagon interview. After the split-draw decision from the judges, Blachowicz said Ankalaev should have won the fight. This came after Joe Rogan stated to an exhausted Jan that the commentary team leaned towards Ankalaev with the fight results.

“Joe Rogan, when he stepped into the octagon, he said for him I lost the fight. That was what I was thinking. He did a mistake that he say something like this to me after the fight,” said Blachowicz. After multiple rewatches, Blachowicz completely agrees with the judges to go for a split draw.

“Everybody who thinks that I lost that fight, watch only the last round. For me, a draw is a fair decision and seriously, I think that I was close to winning the fight than Ankalaev,” said Jan Blachowicz. Joe Rogan has been in the business for more than two decades and his opinion at the moment influenced a tired Blachowicz’s recap of his performance.

The UFC commentator has had a lot of controversial moments in his career. Joe Rogan in his 20-plus years as a UFC broadcaster and commentator has interviewed hundreds of fighters after a brutal fight. Rogan has never been a fan of interviewing people after a tough knockout unless the fighter themselves voluntarily come forwards.

In the past after a tough interview with Allistair Overeem, Rogan took to his Twitter account to demand no octagon interviews for fighters who were part of a brutal fight. “If you’ve ever talked to a friend who has been KO’ed their perception of reality can be drastically off & their memory is severely impaired,” wrote Rogan.

Rogan interviewed Overeem after his knockout against Stipe Miocic and the Dutch fighter was in denial of the result. “I think the UFC brass if we could please refrain from interviewing fighters after they’ve been KO’ed. I don’t think it’s wise nor fair,” wrote Rogan in a request.
