The former light-heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz declared his desire to compete in the heavyweight division. The biggest and the deadliest fighters in the UFC belong to the heavyweight division. Over the years, the weight class has seen fighters like Brock Lesnar, Francis Ngannou, and Daniel Cormier showcase their dominance. Today, Jon Jones reigns supreme in the division, with other heavy hitters lurking in the shadows.
Blachowicz may get the opportunity to fight against Tom Aspinall or Sergei Pavlovich if he moves up in weight. This matchup would decide who would face the winner of Jones vs. Stipe Miocic. When asked about his thoughts on a heavyweight debut, Blachowicz said, “We were gonna ask the UFC about opportunity of heavyweight.” Blachowicz also had some thoughts on a fight with Aspinall. He said, “Aspinall, he did great job in his last fight, so there would be something great for me.”
Blachowicz is a great technical fighter with knockout ability. He knocked out Dominick Reyes at UFC 259 to win the light heavyweight belt. He defended his belt against Israel Adesanya and gave him his first loss in MMA. Blachowicz currently ranks number four in the light-heavyweight division.
Moving up to the heavyweight will surely be a challenge for the Polish fighter. With 29 wins and ten losses, he might be the most experienced fighter in the heavyweight division if he moves up. However, his recent performances have been subpar. Keeping doubts aside, this move will surely excite the fans.

Has Jan Blachowicz lost his Polish Power?
Jan Blachowicz has had a significant number of wins and losses in his MMA career. After winning the light-heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes, he successfully defended the title against Israel Adesanya. He lost his title to 42-year-old Glover Teixeira in 2021.
Blachowicz was widely known for his strength of Polish Power. Today, he ranks 4th in the division and was defeated by Alex Pereira at UFC 291. In their fight, he gassed out against Pereira and got outstruck on the feet. This has concerned some fans about if Jan can continue performing at the highest level.
Blachowicz may have a chance at redemption if he moves to the heavyweight division and finds success. Considering the competitive scene in the heavyweight division, this may be the biggest challenge in his MMA career. However, he is getting up there in age and may not withstand heavyweight power.
