A video from a Japanese fighting promotion revealed that the company surprisingly allowed fighters to compete wearing costumes. Fans have reacted to the video clip and called it a better combat sports add-on than the ongoing Power Slap: Road to Title.
Power Slap: Road to Title has been UFC President Dana White’s most questionable venture, as it has been responsible for some of the most vicious, brutal and brain-damaging knockouts.
The Japanese promotion is reportedly known as “Breaking down“. Check out some of the fan reactions to the same:
The UFC boss has previously faced criticism from fans and fighters in his own promotions for encouraging a sport that does not let the participants defend themselves. Professional boxer, Ryan Garcia has called the sport ‘stupid’ while former UFC referee and official, Big John McCarthy has openly called out the Nevada State Athletic Commission for sanctioning the events.
The slap-fighting contest started airing on TBS Network, as an after-hour special. Before Dana White entered the world of slap fighting, the sport/game was famously contested in several parts of Eastern and Southern Europe. Fighters including Aljamain Sterling, and Francis Ngannou have called the sport ‘too brutal’ and ‘pointless’.

Power Slap’s Jon Kennedy receives suspension after testing positive for cocaine use

Dana White’s Power Slap: Road to Title is halfway over and will feature some more slap-fighting action before taking leave. The show aired for the first time on TBS Network as an after-hour special and is being largely marketed by UFC president, Dana White.
In a recent episode, one of the most vicious KO artists in the slap-fighting tournament, Jon Kennedy was suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission from further participating in the tournament. A suspension of 9 months was penalized on Kennedy after the power slapper tested positive for cocaine use.

Power Slap: Road to Title has been sanctioned only by two athletic commissions in the USA, including the Nevada State Athletic Commission. With over three decades of creating the best matchups and bringing business to the deserted capital, Dana White has been questioned by fans about the misuse of power and influence to encourage a brutal sport.
Earlier, slap-fighting was predominantly contested in parts of Europe. However, since January 2023, Dana White has stepped in to fill the shoes of a matchmaker in fact, even in this new form of sport. The sport’s credibility has been largely suspected due to its rules that prevent participants from defending themselves.
