“UFC doesn’t promote him” – Joe Rogan calls out UFC for sidelining Demetrious Johnson after his move to One Championship

Demetrious Johnson is undoubtedly one of the biggest UFC superstars to ever set foot in the octagon. During his prime, he was unstoppable and cleared out the whole flyweight division and had one of the most dominant title defence streaks.
In 2018, Johnson finally lost his title after getting beaten by Henry Cejudo via a split decision. After that loss, UFC had a trade deal with One Championship which included ‘Mighty Mouse’. It was something Johnson always wanted as he was keen on joining Asian MMA promotions.
After moving to ONE Champion, showed that he is not done yet and won three consecutive fights and became the title contender. However, in the first title fight against Adriano Moraes, Johnson lost via KO. After one year, recently in August, Johnson got his rematch and proved that he is definitely one of the greatest of all time by beating Moraes.
Johnson might have left the UFC but his skill set is still sharp enough to beat the best flyweights in the world. The legend of the sport has millions of fans and UFC commentator, Joe Rogan is definitely one of them.

Joe Rogan recently had a conversation with former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman on his podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience.
During the podcast, Rogan brought up the topic of Demetrious and how he’s still doing great after leaving the UFC. While going into detail, Rogan revealed that UFC has totally forgotten about Johnson and they don’t promote him anymore. Rogan explained that even if Johnson went to another promotion, UFC should have released other content related to him like fight complications etc but that’s not the case.

“You know, they don’t talk about him. They don’t bring him up man,” said Rogan in a disappointment. “It’s just really weird. Like the UFC doesn’t promote him anymore. Like, now that he’s gone, he goes to another organization but it’s still… The fights that he had in the UFC. Like when they show the whole, when they play that hoop, they have that music and they have that compilation, how the f*** do you not have Mighty Mouse in that?”
While Rogan is right about UFC not celebrating Johnson’s legacy as it should be, the reason might be him being in a different organisation. One Championship can be considered one of the biggest rivals of UFC and this might be the reason UFC doesn’t want to promote anything related to the Singapore-based company.
