When it comes to fighting, Joe Rogan will tell you like it is. The UFC commentator had a hilarious encounter with Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports at a recent UFC pay-per-view event.
Dave Portnoy was really confident in his fighter from Liverpool, Molly McCann in the lead-up to UFC 281. The superstar fighter was matched against one of the most dangerous fighters in the women’s roster, Erin Blanchfield. Blanchfield was 9-1 heading into her fight against McCann. Portnoy made a wild bet on his fighter to win the fight.
In the recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the UFC commentator talks about coming across Portnoy at Madison Square Garden. “I talked to Dave Portnoy, he bet 10 grand on Molly McCann and I was like *makes weird face*. I’m like listen, Molly’s tough, anything can happen but Erin Blanchfield is a f**king assassin,” Rogan said on the podcast.
That’s all Portnoy had to know about his risky bet. Blanchfield went on to submit Molly, who was on a three-fight winning streak, in the very first round leading to the Barstool Sports founder losing a ton of cash. Dave then also shared the clip of Rogan from his podcast on his Twitter account and confirmed Rogan’s reaction leading up to the event.
That was the exact face @joerogan made when I told him the bet. Did not install me with the most confidence. pic.twitter.com/ROM53FRxbt

Dave Portnoy’s live reaction to Molly McCann getting submitted at UFC 281
Dave Portnoy has signed two of the finest talents from England. Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann sure have made the Barstool Sports founder proud on several occasions but this time, Blanchfield was just too good for the Scouser. Blanchfield is known to be an insane grappler and was a terrible matchup for McCann in the eyes of the fans.
Portnoy still had a lot of faith in his fighter. The American celebrity posted his live reaction to the fight on his Instagram and it shows the rollercoaster of emotions Portnoy went through while McCann was being submitted on the ground by Blanchfield. It took Erin 3 minutes and 37 seconds to finish her opponent at UFC 281.

The video shows Portnoy struggling to watch his fighter get choked out in front of a packed Madison Square Garden crowd. “The highs and lows of the fight game. [Meatball Molly] will be back,” wrote Dave posting his reaction to the fight. Paddy Pimblett will soon be taking the center stage at UFC 282 in December. Would be interesting to see how much Dave Portnoy bets on “The Baddy”.
