Joe Rogan is one of the most recognizable personalities in the United States of America. Rogan began his career in Kickboxing and transitioned to comedy. Now, he is the host of one of the most viewed podcasts in the world, the Joe Rogan Experience. His fame in the podcast world has minimized his appearance in the commentary booth of the UFC. Now, he only does commentary work for domestic PPV events.
One face that is a staple in the UFC commentary booth is Jon Anik. Anik is the play-by-play commentator for the UFC. Recently, Anik gave an interview to MMA Junkie where he spoke highly of Rogan. This is what he said about Rogan in the podcast.
It's an eventuality that Joe Rogan's going to go into the UFC Hall of Fame, and I would love for that to happen spontaneously, live on a UFC broadcast.Jon Anik via MMA Junkie
Anik stated that the contributions that Rogan gave to the sport of Mixed Martial Arts are second to none. He also credited Rogan for the smooth journey of his podcast, the Anik and Florian Podcast. Bruce Buffer is another person that Anik stated should be in the Hall of Fame in addition to Rogan.
Anik and Rogan commentated together along with Daniel Cormier at the recently concluded UFC 296. The upcoming PPV event, UFC 297 is in Canada and hence Rogan would be unavailable. Paul Felder, Michael Bisping, or Laura Sanko might fill in for Rogan at the event. Rogan has deep hatred toward Justin Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister, due to his policies, particularly related to COVID-19 vaccines.
UFC Commentator vows to fight for Tony Ferguson’s inclusion in Hall of Fame
Jon Anik is one of the best play-by-play commentators in MMA. The Bostonian, who now resides in Canada, has a huge fan base in the MMA community. In addition to commentating, Anik also hosts UFC pre-fight press conferences in the absence of UFC CEO, Dana White.
In the interview with MMA Junkie, Anik stated his desire to see Joe Rogan and Bruce Buffer in the UFC Hall of Fame. Moreover, he also spoke about wanting to see Tony Ferguson in the modern wing of UFC Hall of Fame.
Anik was fervent in his case to include Tony Ferguson in the Hall of Fame, to the point where he was personally ready to make Ferguson’s case for the same. He opined that interim champions tend to be overlooked.
