Jon Jones is currently touring Australia and landed at the home ground of the rugby team Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. He joined them for an in-class performance training and shared his valuable knowledge. Also, he had fun with the rugby players, and a video of him making a rugby tackle made its rounds around the internet. Now, in an interview during the event, Jon Jones expressed his opinion about controversial kickboxer Andrew Tate and his fighting skills.
‘Bones’ stated he had seen some clips of Andrew Tate training and deduced he was a solid fighter. However, he mentioned not seeing any of Tate’s competitive fights. On the other hand, Jon Jones appreciated him for spreading his knowledge and acknowledged Tate for the person he was. Here is what he said:
I've seen some of his training videos, I haven't seen too much of his actual work, but he looks pretty solid. He looks solid. I'm just proud of the person that he is trying to be, just for human beings...He's trying to help men, and women think outside the box and expand on all of our knowledge and I'm grateful for that because not a lot of people do.Jon Jones (via Life Cykel)
Andrew Tate is a polarising figure on the internet who was canceled by multiple social media platforms and banks. It came from Tate’s controversial opinions about women and numerous other topics. However, UFC champion Jon Jones tended to appreciate Tate for the work he was doing. Before his boom in the internet space, Tate was a world-class kickboxer who won multiple world championships. As such, his combat skills were on the top level, and Jones had respect for it.
Jon Jones returned from a long hiatus to make his move up to heavyweight after his long reign at light-heavyweight. As such, he claimed the heavyweight title last year but has since not competed. Well, he was scheduled to fight Stipe Miocic at UFC 295, but unfortunately, he pulled out from the fight after suffering an injury in training. Now, he has gone through surgery and is making progress to return as soon as possible.
Andrew Tate previews a hypothetical fight with Jon Jones
Andrew Tate, while answering questions from the fans, responded to the question of what he would do if he ever fought Israel Adesanya or Jones Jones. He said he would fight them with his supreme confidence and previewed the fight. Firstly, he critiqued game-planning for fights and even quoted Mike Tyson‘s iconic line.
So, deducing his plans, Andrew Tate said he would train as hard as possible and be in the best shape he could be. On that note, he claimed to get in the arena to f**k his opponent, in this case, Jon Jones or Israel Adesanya. With this, he shared a valuable life lesson regarding tenacity and confidence. As such, he said, once a situation was presented, he would go head-on, tackling it with full trust in himself.
Andrew Tate not only has full confidence, but he also has world-level fighting experience. He had competed in kickboxing for years and actively trained to this day. So, his opinion on fighting Jon Jones or ‘The Last Style Bender’ remained very thoughtful. However, it was just a hypothetical scenario, and Tate has no interest in professional fighting again.
