Jon Jones reacts to Leon Edwards win at UFC 278

The UFC’s most dominant Light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has weighed in on the recent UFC 278 main event. Bones reacted to the brutal KO of the P4P king Kamaru Usman by challenger Leon Edwards.

Kamaru Usman was taking on Leon Edwards in a rematch from 2015. The champion was a favourite going into the matchup and it looked like he was going to win easily and defend his belt for the sixth time.

The challenger although did some damage in the first round even taking the champion who had a perfect takedown defence score. However, in the latter rounds Usman started to take over and when it looked like it would be an easy win for him on the judge’s card.

Out of nowhere suddenly Edwards threw a leg kick that sent the P4P king crashing on the mat. Just like that the challenger turned the whole fight and became the second UFC champion from the UK. The loss broke Usman‘s unbeaten streak in the UFC and his P4P rankings slipped to #4.

Although the main event took place last weekend and a lot of fans and UFC elites have reacted to it. The former Light Heavyweight king Jon Jones was a bit late to the party.

Jones took to his Instagram to share a story of him watching the fight. The former UFC champion posted a video of him watching the UFC 278 main event. While watching the vicious knockout, the former light heavyweight champion was impressed by the new champion’s performance.

The former champion went ahead to say, “Just now getting around to watching these fights, man. It’s pretty wild. That’s the UFC for you. It’s as real as it gets. Nothing else like it.”

The former champ is right as Edwards was going to lose the fight and Usman was a minute away from a successful title defence. However, a single head kick changed the course of the fight in an instant. In an instant, the Nigerian not only lost his title but his undefeated streak, his P4P rankings and his title reign. The fight fans are still stunned by the KO at UFC 278.
