“Shut the f**k up” – Jorge Masvidal sends a SENSATIONAL response to Gilbert Burns’ claims of him dodging a fight against the Brazilian

Jorge Masvidal has helped Ron DeSantis campaign in Florida.

Jorge Masvidal has not fought in the UFC since his third loss consecutive loss against Colby Covington at UFC 272. What makes this stat more shocking is the fact that “Gamebred” has not won in the UFC since 2019. Hence, when he called out welterweight champion Leon Edwards for a title fight, ‘Rocky’ wanted him to beat a top 10 welterweight first.

The first name that popped into everyone’s head immediately was the #4 ranked UFC welterweight, Gilbert Burns. Burns had been calling out Masvidal to a fight since last year. And recently on Twitter, Burns made some shocking claims. “Durinho” said that Masvidal had been ducking to fight him thrice.

Masvidal has now responded to Burns through a video he posted on his Instagram page. “I’m going to address this little bi**h that I usually dont have time for, but I’ll make some time for you today, Gilbert. Hunter (Campbell) if you’re hearing this or when you see this, can you please tell this bi**h I never agreed to November, December or January? I’ve had court cases, I’ve had different things, a bunch of things and I haven’t been able to decide who I got to fight…If you want to get your a** whooped when Leon Edwards defends his f**king belt in England, I would gladly beat the sh*t out of you, Gilbert. If not, shut the f**k up”, said Gamebred.

The fact that Masvidal has legal troubles is well-documented. However, once he puts all this behind him, ‘Gamebred’ will surely look to start fresh by beating Burns. If he is able to get past the Brazilian, Masvidal might also want to challenge for the title.

A fight between Jorge Masvidal and Gilbert Burns has been discussed for quite some time now with nothing having materialised

At UFC 278, Leon Edwards shocked the world in the last round of his fight against Kamaru Usman. Heading into the 5th, only a knockout could secure the welterweight title for Edwards. And he did exactly that, landing a head kick to knock out Usman with under a minute left in the fight. Earlier that day, Gilbert Burns was asked about this fight in an interview and he called it exactly right barring the surprise finish.

He was also asked about the Masvidal fight and he said that he had been offered the fight by the UFC. However, Gamebred hadn’t accepted it yet. He then went on to address Masvidal himself. “Jorge, if you don’t wanna fight, it’s all good my brother. No hard feelings, my respect to you… If you wanna fight, just tell (me) the day, I will fight you, if you don’t I’ll move forward. It’s on you right now.”

He also said that he wanted to fight Masvidal at the Brazil card in the co-main event. However, the fight is yet to be made official. ‘Durinho’ has been pushing for this fight for a long time and seems ready for it. As for Masvidal, if he truly is serious about fighting for the title again, he will need to beat a couple of top contenders. At 38, his best years may very well be behind him and his comeback fight may end up determining the twilight of his MMA career.
