Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal boxing fight in the works? One would think so, given “Gamebred” making callouts.

Jorge Masvidal has defeated Nate Diaz before and the oddsmakers believe he can do so again. Masvidal’s social media appearances and indulgences only fuel this further. Much like Ex-UFC heavyweight, Francis Nagannou, Diaz’s supposed 2nd pro-boxing venture is the talk of the town now. The MMA Hour’s Ariel Helwani nudged that Nate Diaz, who lost to “Gamebred” in a Nov. 2019 clash, could box yet again in 2024. Meanwhile, in a recent Inside Fighting interview, Masvidal himself said he’d be ready for the same.
Given that Diaz’s maiden boxing bout came up short, the next one holds even more hope. The duo hashed it out in Nov. 2019 in the inaugural UFC BMF championship fight. Masvidal bagged the special hardware, with a 3rd Round TKO victory due to a doctor stoppage. He has since then retired from MMA, and Diaz is a free agent. Now, taking to X, he ominously rekindles the rivalry, writing –

In all probability, it could mean anything. But for hardcore fight fans, it means a call to arms. With him dousing fighting words at current BMF champ, Justin Gaethje, with LowKickMMA, fan interest is piqued. Masvidal recanting his retirement from MMA earlier this year only puts more flame on the matter.
Speaking with TMZ, Masvidal, the original inaugural “BMF” once said that Diaz probably won’t battle him out at MMA anymore. Having lost once that is. However, the free agent might just duke it out with boxing. He also said he’d KO Diaz if they ever met again, notwithstanding the type of fight they have. Fight fans have reacted to it as such.
Fight fans react to Jorge Masvidal’s ominous social media callout
Following his exit in 2022, Nate Diaz is 0-1 in crossover boxing. He suffered a decision loss to influencer-boxer, Jake Paul last. In the meantime, Jorge Masvidal would go on to lose four straight MMA fights after his win over Diaz before announcing his retirement at UFC 287 in April. He recently hinted at ending his retirement and jumping back into action.
Masvidal also is confident he’d reclaim his BMF title if he fought Justin Gaethje. Gaethje knocked out Masvidal’s teammate, Dustin Poirier, to claim the BMF title at UFC 291. But Masvidal never actually lost out on his gold. With one foot in, he has thus been throwing out extravagant callouts to all old foes and new. Including Nate Diaz and Gaethje.
Very recently, he called out Diaz in an obscure tweet. Here’s how fans have reacted to the matter –
Ringing true to Chael Sonnen‘s viewpoint that the Jorge Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz boxing match is one of the worst-pitched ideas, fans are not very keen on it. Even veteran color commentator, Daniel Cormier prompted somewhat the same on his ESPN show “DC & RC.”
UFC star, Jorge Masvidal’s bloated physique in the latest footage hasn’t helped convince anyone. Some have even jibed at Masvidal being broke, thus desperately dishing out callouts. Only time will tell if any of these aspects, both pro and con, hold true to essence.
