The debate for the best MMA fighter has always been between Jon Jones, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Henry Cejudo. But according to Khabib, Henry is bit higher than him.

Cejudo has defended his two-division belt and won an Olympic Gold, while Khabib retired as the P4P #1 with a perfect record of no losses. With this debate about who is the better fighter between them, according to Khabib, Cejudo edges it higher than him.

“You know I have good numbers too…but honestly, I think you a little bit higher than me. You know why? Because of Olympic Gold medal”, Khabib said this in Mike Tyson‘s Hot Boxin’ podcast to Cejudo directly. “This is like anybody, everybody who train”, he added.

Well, at least no debate about the greatest in Khabib’s mind’s for sure. He knows that Henry Cejudo is higher than him without a doubt because of the dream that every sportsperson has – An Olympic Gold.

Henry Cejudo respects Khabib Nurmogomedov even more now

After Khabib decided he was going to leave the world of MMA completely now, with no coaching as well and concentrate on his family – he received a lot of support from the fighters in the game overall. Henry Cejudo, especially, congratulated him on his retirement and respected him even more for leaving MMA for his family.

“I’m just super happy for Khabib to really recognize and realize that because at the end of the day, he’s accomplished more than what the average Joe would ever do… From the bottom of my heart, Khabib, I understand you, I believe you, and congratulations on your new endeavors because family is everything, Henry said. “I actually respect Khabib more now because I get it, and I know the amount of travel and how he gets tugged and pulled, and I don’t think people really understand the level of where he’s at, Cejudo added.

With Khabib completely uninvolved with MMA and concentrating on his family, it will be interesting to see how fighters under his wing perform. With one of his students, Islam Makhachev, competing for the P4P #1 for UFC 284 – it will be interesting to see how he performs without Khabib’s help.
