Khamzat Chimaev has not fought in the UFC since last year. Borz has challenged almost everybody across the welterweight and middleweight divisions. Declares himself the ‘king of two divisions’.

Chimaev last fought at UFC 279 against Kevin Holland. Ever since Borz has remained without a concrete fight. Since nobody wants to take up the undefeated welterweight, he sets his eyes on the middleweight division. “I want to fight for the title, so for me it doesn’t matter which weight class. We can go, but I didn’t want to make weight for a nobody at, why am I going to do that? I’m No.3“. Khamzat ranks #3 on the UFC welterweight rankings and now is ready to move up to the middleweight division. Although he says only against a worthy opponent.

Chimaev has thrown challenges across the middleweight class including Alex Pereira, Robert Whittaker, and current UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Even Kamaru Usman has upfront challenged the Chechen to a catchweight bout. Although Dana White has clearly declined the proposition. As per Khamzat, he has never said no to a fight. He said he believes when one is the best he needs to fight the best. Thus ‘Borz’ asks the UFC for a title shot regardless of whoever the fighter is. I feel I’m the king of this weight class and I’m the king of weight class as well so just give me a title shot,” he said. Considering his streak of 12 wins and 0 losses, the UFC President may just take him up on the offer.

Khamzat Chimaev has recently created a lot of buzz on social media, going up against just about everybody in the sport. Yet he remains without a concrete fight prospect. It remains to be seen who the Chechen fights next. Also whether Dana White does actually provide him the title shot he desires.

Israel Adesanya recently reclaimed his UFC Middleweight Champion title. Going up against long time rival Alex Pereira, Adesanya defeated him to UFC 287 after a long drawn rivalry that lasted years. Now, Adesanya has a new challenger on the line, and according to Khamzat himself, the only worthy adversary.

Chimaev believes Israel Adesanya is a profitable fighter which is why they have built him up so much. Also the reason why they do not wish to put an end to the gravy train by pitching him against Chimaev. He is confident he can defeat Adesanya going as far as saying that he can put down the Middleweight Champion without throwing a single punch.

“…Finish that guy, without punch, that’s why they scared…” that is what he said. Inactivity surely must be bothering Chimaev who has spared no means to declare that he will take on anybody worth fighting. With 6 consecutive wins under the UFC promotion, it remains to be seen who gets to face the Swede in his potential return to the octagon.
