UFC commentator Joe Rogan is famed for his diverse take on topics. These include combat sports as well as other variated global scenarios. Rogan, an MMA enthusiast and practitioner himself sat down with UFC veteran Daniel Cormier to discuss Alex Pereira and his latest highlights.

Cormier was a name to be reckoned with and still holds quite the gravitas in the sporting industry. He often weighs in on the future trajectories of fighters. Deliberating with Rogan on The Joe Rogan Experience MMA show #150, he talked of Alex Pereira. This is what he said:

My cousin had the greatest analogy for Pereira. He goes - "he is Thanos". Literally just f***ing collecting stones! Infinity stones. I love Marvel. He goes - it was like when Thanos showed up. There's a timeline, you know, there's a bad guy and [another] bad guy and then there's this ultimate bad guy, who is just in some f**king bar in Brazil and Izzy had to open his mouth.

Periera recently captured the vacant light heavyweight gold against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295. The former middleweight champion, also a GLORY kickboxing champion, is thus now the 9th two-division champion in UFC. “Poatan” was recently inducted into the GLORY Hall of Fame.

Cormier also commended the fighter’s kicking skills to the Rogan, inferring from the latest kicking altercation they had. Rogan also lauded the kickboxer for having the sneakiest slicer in the combative sports spectrum right now. When Pereira made his UFC debut, Rogan was the only mainstream MMA commentator who believed in Pereira.

Commentator Joe Rogan hosts a plethora of celebrities and MMA personalities on his show, The Joe Rogan Experience. He delves into a variety of topics on his podcast. After much angst on the fans’ part, Rogan finally hosted a show with veteran Daniel Cormier recently.

The fighter is the #7 best fighter of all time, among 30 great UFC fighters. Talking to Rogan on the JRE MMA Show #150, Cormier weighed in on why he thought boxing was more dangerous than MMA.

Cormier thought MMA was much safer as a knockout remains a more finalized scenario. Furthermore, a fighter does not have to recover in a battered state to fight again for another round. This usually happens in boxing. Accounting for the “countdown” that a boxer goes through to recover in a hammered and concussed state to get back into the fight. He also attributed modern weight-cutting in MMA to being a more dangerous aspect than before. In the interview, Cormier also divulged his fiery ear-bite altercation with heavyweight Jon Jones. Both of them also dove into a multitude of other topics.
