Frank Mir put up one of the biggest fights in UFC history when he fought Brock Lesnar at UFC 100. However, he recently realized that he was nowhere near compensated for that fight.
Frank Mir recently did an interview with MMA Fighting. There he talked about how he realized how severely underpaid he was in his UFC career.
Seeing these guys make $40 million combined. I’m like wow. Brock obviously made seven figures off it, I think he made $2.5 million. But I didn’t even make a million.Frank Mir said
Mir said he realized about it during Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury‘s rematch. The UFC 100 showdown reportedly made more money than this iconic boxing match. This got Frank Mir wondering where all that money went. In over 15 years of his career, the former UFC champion stated that he never made nearly a million dollars in a single fight in his career.
Frank Mir and Brock Lesnar had their iconic showdown in 2009 at UFC 100. That fight sold over 1.6 million pay-per-views and generated over $71 million in revenue. The UFC reportedly made around $35 or $36 million. As for the fighters, Mir lost and reportedly made a mere $45,000 while Brock Lesnar earned a whopping $400,000.
Brock Lesnar dissed Bud Light in his post-fight interview after winning UFC 100
UFC 100 was not the first fight Frank Mir and Brock Lesnar faced off in. They previously fought in 2008 at UFC 81 and Frank Mir defeated Brock Lesnar in the first round. Thus when the WWE superstar won the rematch he went a little rogue during his post-fight speech for the sake of entertainment.

Joe Rogan brought up the mic to Brock Lesnar and asked about his thoughts after avenging his first loss in just five fights into his MMA career. Despite the boos, he made remarks about beating Frank Mir and said that he would go back home to his friends and family and drink Coors Light. He specifically mentioned Coors even though Bud Light was the sponsor of the promotion, saying that he would pick Coors because Bud Light would not pay him. He later apologized backstage for his comments in front of the media.
Lesnar went on to fight four more fights before putting a pause on his MMA career. Out of these, he won one fight and lost two, and his final fight in the UFC in 2016 was overturned to a no-contest. He returned to WWE while Frank Mir ventured into boxing.
