UFC legend Chuck Liddell is one of the most exciting fighters to ever compete in the UFC. Liddell had an intense rivalry with Tito Ortiz. Once, Ortiz made offensive remarks about Liddell’s girlfriend. One of Liddell’s friends, John Huntington asked Liddell to squash the beef with Ortiz at an afterparty. Incidentally, Hollywood star Vin Diesel was there at the party too.

Liddell talked about the incident on the podcast, Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk. This is what he said.

I went over. They got Tito, he came over. Actually, Vin Diesel was there too. I know he was negotiating, I guess. But, um, I'm like, okay, it's real simple. He came up and was trying to like get us to talk. Yeah, okay, it'd be cool.

Surprisingly, Vin Diesel was there to mediate the conflict resolution between Liddell and Ortiz. Ortiz and Liddell had fought thrice in MMA. Their initial two meetings in the UFC ended in finishes for Liddell. However, Ortiz defeated Liddell in their trilogy fight when Liddell came back from retirement after 8 years.

During his heyday, Liddell was one of the most popular fighters in MMA. He was the face of the promotion. Moreover, he was also the first UFC fighter to grace the cover of ESPN Magazine. Furthermore, his autobiography, Iceman: My Fighting Life was a best seller.

Liddell provided his take on the fight on Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk. This is what he said.

It was interesting, it was cool. I thought Ngannou did great, man. You can't ask for better. He dropped him in the second round. To me, that's a win for him, period. If that was a fight, he won. If you go by damage and what Ngannou could take it, Ngannou won. But I think, typically, the way you score boxing, by points and rounds, yeah, I thought Fury won.

Ngannou impressed Liddell with the performance that saw him score a knockdown over Fury. However, he did not think that Ngannou won the boxing match. Nevertheless, Liddell would’ve won the match if it was scored purely on damage.
