Raul Rosas Jr might have ended 2022 on a high, but his opponent Jay Perrin sure did not expect things to go the way they did at UFC 282.

18-year-old Raul Rosas Jr was set to make history at UFC 282 by becoming the youngest fighter to secure a win in the biggest promotion in mixed martial arts. Jay Perrin, 29, was handed an opponent in Rosas Jr, the DCWS graduate to get his first win in UFC. The fighter was very confident about getting his first win.

While all the bright lights shined towards the youngster who made history, recent footage shows Perrin contemplating retirement inside the octagon.

Perrin, the US MMA fighter, representing Team Syndicate MMA, was seen talking to his corner and calling quits on his career. “That’s probably it for me,” said an emotional Perrin after his submission loss. “I made a fool out of myself…I f***ed up. I’m not good enough to be here,” said Perrin as he continued to unwrap his gloves. Watch the video below:

It is never easy to handle a loss in a fight. To lose a fight against 18-year-old Rosas in the first round was never going to settle in well. Also, Perrin’s trash-talking came back to haunt him. Jay Perrin vs Raul Rosas Jr took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The loss against Rosas was Perrin’s third consecutive defeat in the UFC octagon.
