Marvin Vettori HOPES Alex Pereira puts Israel Adesanya on oxygen support once again
Alex Pereira, Israel Adesanya, and Marvin Vettori
Marvin Vettori hopes rising middleweight star Alex Pereira shuts the lights off against Israel Adesanya at UFC 281. The former title contender is not hoping to see another title defense in Izzy’s name after his upcoming title fight.
Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira will be fighting each other at UFC 281 and this is undoubtedly one of the biggest fights of the year. The middleweight champ has been walking through his title contenders like a day in the park recently and the fans have started to complain that his fight lacks action and excitement these days. Alex Pereira, the former GLORY kickboxing champion, and the only fighter to knock out Izzy in his professional career is here to change that narrative.
There is no doubt that the entire fight world will be tuning in to watch Izzy take on Pereira in a fight for the third time. Marvin Vettori, a top middleweight contender will be paying close attention to this fight. This is the first time Izzy and Alex will be facing each other since their kickboxing days and it is a very evenly poised fight. Vettori however believes the Brazilian can do the job for the third time.
Marvin Vettori reckons Izzy and Pereira will be in a kickboxing fight once again
Izzy has never been knocked out in his career except for one time. Alex Pereira is the man to knock him out cold at GLORY kickboxing. When Alex put Adesaya to sleep, the Last Stylebender was in critical condition and needed oxygen support. Marvin believes or hopes that Pereira can run things back exactly. At UFC Paris pre-fight press conference, Marvin gave his thoughts on his former rival’s upcoming title fight.

I think you mean the oxygen mask won’t save Izzy this time pic.twitter.com/6jBXHo0y60

“I really hope like, he goes out on another oxygen mask, and I think it can happen because that’s gonna be a kickboxing fight,” said Vettori talking to the press. Marvin and Izzy have fought twice in the UFC octagon and Izzy got his hands raised both times. Maybe Vettori’s prediction for the next title fight has a pinch of salt in it.
Alex is only three fights into the UFC and has been awarded the title shot. In his last fight, he got a huge bump up in the quality of his opponent and got to face Sean Strickland, who was then #4 ranked. Pereira hit Sean with a vicious left hand and ended the fight via TKO. Izzy vs Alex is undoubtedly the most exciting matchup in the middleweight division.
