“His hobby is fighting,” Matt Brown claims ‘amateur fighter’ Paddy Pimblett is more focused on internet shenanigans than actually performing inside the octagon

Paddy Pimblett has been making waves in the sport for around a year now – for bad or for worse, it has to be admitted that Pimblett’s star has begun to exceed the reaches of MMA.
That being said, it must be noted that Pimblett’s positive image on the internet took a huge beating last week, especially on Saturday night, after his fight against Jared Gordon. Long story short, in the week leading up to the fight, “The Baddy’s” tactic of attacking Ariel Helwani with Dana White backfired immensely. Additionally, regardless of popular opinion, the judges scored the fight unanimously in the Briton’s favour, despite it not having seemed so.
To make it all worse, after the fight, “The Baddy” even vehemently defended the decision granted in his favour, saying that he deserved to win the fight, as he had won all three rounds anyway. Now, UFC fighter Matt Brown has come out and aimed his words at Pimblett’s shenanigans, saying, “He’s a professional social media guy, his hobby is fighting. What else would he say?”
He continued, “If he admits defeat, it makes him look worse. It makes us sit here and talk about it more. That’s all he really wants. He wants more clicks, he wants more views. He’s a social media professional. He’s an amateur fighter.”
Paddy Pimblett will have his work cut for him in his next fight, as he hopes to make an impression upon the rankings
Paddy Pimblett didn’t make the impression that he would’ve wished to make, in order to start scaling the ever so deep lightweight rankings. A good win over Jared Gordon might not have automatically brought him into the top 15, but it certainly would have done something in the same direction.
The truth of the matter is that right now, Pimblett desperately needs a big win – not only for his UFC career, but also to curry favour with the fans yet again. However, the crux of the matter is that the competition will just get increasingly tougher, and Pimblett has a lot of work to do before he hits his stride among the 155 pounders.

In a division that houses the likes of Islam Makhachev, Charles Oliveira, Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje, it is hard to see where Pimblett figures in. That being said, he is of 27 years old, and with the right temperament and training, he might just find himself in the mix soon.
