Dana White recently touched down in Boston ahead of UFC 292. This marked another installment of the popular show ‘Lookin’ For a Fight,’ with UFC legend Matt Serra in tow. Their mission was to find the next big sensation for the UFC. Amid this search for raw talent, Dana’s return to Boston evoked memories of his own humble beginnings.

Boston holds deep significance for Dana White, being his hometown. It was the backdrop of some of his earliest work experiences. One of his initial jobs was at the prestigious Boston Harbor Hotel, a pivotal point he recalled with nostalgia. “I worked at the Boston Harbor Hotel. It was like one of my first jobs ever,” Dana recounted.

He clarified that his role involved assisting guests as a bellman, aiding them in settling into their rooms. “I was a Bellman there. So we used to take people’s bags up to their rooms when they would come in,” Dana explained. Dana White paid homage to his youth and seized the opportunity to step back in time. He donned his former bellman uniform and rejoined the hotel staff.

“This time… they fitted me with one of the old Bellman uniforms and I’m gonna get in the uniform,” Dana White excitedly conveyed. Matt Serra’s reaction upon encountering Dana White in his bellman attire was a delightful surprise. “I guess the Power Slap didn’t work out huh,” Matt Serra said, triggering a hearty laugh from Dana White.

Dana White’s early struggles navigating various hotel jobs around Boston are a part of his well-documented history. However, his stay at the Boston Harbor Hotel became a steady choice due to its favorable remuneration.

Sharing insights into his formative years, Dana White revealed that he was a teenager of about 18 or 19 when he embraced the role at the hotel. “We’d check them in and check them out. I was like 18 or 19 years old when I worked there,” he recounted. Stirred by the hotel’s aura, Dana White couldn’t resist reliving his bellman persona once more. Nobody who worked hard enough would ever forget where they came from and that particular aura will remain special forever.
