“A unicorn of MMA,” Megan Olivi lauds huge praise for & after Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Hall of Fame induction

Longtime UFC correspondent Megan Olivi is a respectful name in the MMA community so it matters if she speaks highly of some athletes in the promotion. Olivi is also a part-time broadcaster for National Football League and before UFC, Olivi was known for working at WEC. Later on, in the course of her career, she was blessed enough to have an MMA legend as her life partner as well Joseph Benavidez. Olivi is now not only a pre-fight and post-fight interviewer but also a live commentator during the fighters’ walkout.
Olivi was recently seen attending the UFC Hall of Fame ceremony for the class of 2022. The ceremony inducted American Kickboxing Academy trainees Khabib Nurmagomedov and Daniel Cormier. Max Holloway and Giga Chikadze were awarded the Forrest Griffin Community Award. Doo Ho Choi and Cub Swanson’s battle back in 2016 was inducted into the Hall of Fame as well.

Megan Olivi says Khabib Nurmagomedov never needed outside noise to prove his greatness
In an interview, Olivi lauded praise over UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov, a retired MMA fighter with an undefeated record of 29-0 who’s tied with BJ Penn and Benson Henderson for the most title defences in lightweight history. Nurmagomedov is also known for having the most 10-8 rounds in his favour throughout his career. Khabib had wins over the likes of Edson Barboza, Michael Johnson, Rafael Dos Anjos, Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje and many more. He is now a successful coach and President of a successful MMA promotion in the form of Eagle FC. Here’s what Olivi had to say.
“I don’t know if we ever will [see anyone like Khabib] because not just the perfection but the way he carried himself, he didn’t need anything else you know. He never needed the outside noise… I do think he is the unicorn of the sport, I don’t think there’s really going to be someone that we compare to him in all aspects…”
What do you make of Olivi’s comments and her belief that there’s never going to be another one like Khabib? Where do you put Khabib amongst the greatest fighters of all time?
