Fitness model and influencer Mike O’Hearn was seen absorbing body kicks by UFC’s rising star Ian Machado Garry. O’Hearn who recently went viral due to a series of memes, was present for an event at Karate Combat. While Mike might have been at Karate Combat for promoting an event, he was on the other end of a body kick from Ian Garry.
Mike O’Hearn is a very famous figure in the world of bodybuilding. He is a fitness model and has been featured on over 400 magazine covers. While O’Hearn has no shortage of admirers in the world of bodybuilding, he recently gained a lot more fans through his memes. Meanwhile, Ian Garry has turned a lot of eyes toward him after an epic win against Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night. The undefeated welterweight fighter has already displayed his phenomenal skill set and potential to become a champion down the line.
O’Hearn and Garry are both lovers of combat sports and were seen during the promotional event of Karate Combat. Trying their luck with kicks or punches from fighters is very common among fitness influencers. Many bodybuilders have tried their luck taking body shots from Ryan Garcia and one influencer also took leg kicks from Stephen Thompson. So naturally Mike O’Hearn took a leg kick to the body from Ian Garry. The welterweight fighter warmed up for throwing a right leg kick and struck O’Hearn to the body.
Despite very little experience in martial arts, O’ Hearn did a great job of absorbing Garry’s kick. Although it also looked like he would not have been able to take another blow. The video became viral as people were taken aback by the unexpected duo.
Ian Garry’s six-fight plan for the welterweight division
Ian Garry has proved himself to be a potential threat to many fighters in the welterweight division. After defeating a veteran like Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Charolette ‘ The Future ‘ has proved that he has what it takes to become a champion down the line. Garry is already the #13 ranked fighter in the welterweight division. With a few more dominant wins Ian could very possibly be the next in line to fight for the welterweight title.
However, ‘The Future’ has no intentions of rushing it. Garry has already a plan in place for his next fights in UFC. According to Ian Garry, he does not want people to doubt his claim for a title shot when the time comes. To prevent that from ever happening Ian has a six-fight plan in place. “ I want to do two between 15 and 10, I want to do two between five and ten and two between one and five before I get the title shot. That’s six fights against the elite of the elite to prove myself to the fans, to the organization,” said Garry.
Ian Garry has already garnered praise from fellow Irishman Conor McGregor and UFC commentator Joe Rogan for his performance. The Future has called out welterweight fighter Neil Magny for his next bout and a spot in the Top 10.
