Michael Chandler has always been very opportune in getting to be a father. Along with his wife, Brie Willet, he adopted a son back in 2018. They later named him Hap Whitaker. When the couple shared a snap of a second adopted kid back in 2022, the fighter faced much harassment from the fight community. However, things have changed much since then with more progressive views in play.
Recently, a fan account on X (@wayotworld) posted consecutive tweet threads that urged white people to stop adopting black kids. Which conversely threw direct shade on Chandler. In a colorful array of words, the tweet described this as a power move for ‘White folks’, similar to adopting a rescue dog. However, other fans have lashed back to this racial connotation.

A prime reaction read – “Why? Adoption is good…” Another MMA coverage fan account (@oocmma) prompted this casual segregationist stance to be a sign of a Klu Klux Klan Twitter account. Meaning that such bigotry claims stem from extreme White Supremacy. Concurrently, this isn’t the only response firing back at the comment for its racial attributes. Many have commented on it, for acting out with racial purposes in hopes of pointing out racism.
Some have even gibed at Ex-Bellator fighter, Dillon Danis, who first attacked Chandler for adopting, in a heated exchange. Moreover, MMA coverage and Investigative journalist Mike Russel had also sneered at him for allegedly using his kids for social media propaganda. While he seemingly can’t catch a break, this time, Chandler has garnered much support.
Fight fans come in support of Michael Chandler’s choice to adopt kids
With change in time, a lot can change in the narrative and perspective of things. Over time, from trashing Michael Chandler on adopting 2 African American kids, people have now astronomically voiced their support over it.

Michael Chandler and his wife boast the parenthood of two kids. However, a fan account on X recently sniped at this being a ‘Whitewashed’ power move to show mercy on colored folks; similar to taking in a rescue dog.
And here’s how other fans have reacted to the willful flaming of such claims –
At 23-8 MMA, 2-3 UFC, Chandler holds much battle acumen as a fighter. Accordingly, some like-minded fans have hopefully wished at the fighter facing such ‘keyboard-warriors’ head-on. Alongside, most others have lauded him as well as his wife for providing for two children and not subjecting them to the foster system. In a fresh change of pace, a lot of minds have veered towards Chandler on this one.
