“RIP to the American Psycho” – MMA community mourns over Stephan Bonnar’s saddening death

Former UFC fighter and Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar, unfortunately, died at the age of 45. According to the reports, on Thursday Bonnar suffered heart problems at work which caused his demise.
Bonnar is a legend of the sport and fought 24 professional bouts out of which he won 15. He competed in UFC for 7 years and participated in 15 bouts. Bonar has fought some of the best fighters in the UFC including Rashad Evans, Jon Jones, Mark Coleman, Krzysztof Soszynski, Anderson Silva, etc.
UFC president Dana White once credited Bonnar’s contribution to UFC, he said: “Stephan Bonnar was one of the most important fighters to ever compete in the octagon. His fight with Forrest Griffin changed the sport forever, and he will never be forgotten. The fans loved him and related to him, and he always gave them his best. He will be missed.” UFC posted a picture of the former fighter and mentioned that it was certainly saddening news for the promotion as well.

‘The American Psycho’ was the finalist of ‘The Ultimate Fighter 1‘ which he lost against Forrest Griffin. However, the significance of that fight is massive. This was the fight that elevated the promotion to get a mainstream audience. It was the first ever UFC fight that was broadcasted live on cable TV for free. That fight was absolutely brutal and both fighters showed what MMA is all about. Both Griffin and Bonar were covered in blood and the viewership was going crazy. Every sports fan was tuning up to watch the madness of the fight. Stephan Bonnar was a true fighter and never backed out of challenges, the news of his death has struck the MMA community hard. Fans and pros have already shown their respect and admiration for the fighter.
