The major combat sports news revolved around Tyson Fury, Jon Jones, and Joe Rogan in the last day or so. It came after Fury blasted Rogan for saying Jones would defeat the WBC champion in a no-rules fight. Fans and Jones chimed in to call out the delusional nature of Fury. However, after carefully analyzing the situation, Tyson Fury has come out with an absurd apology.
He said, “See Jon you talk about me in a cage. I’m not a cage fighter, mate. I’m a boxer, the best boxer actually. So if you want to come into a boxing ring to fight me, be my guest, let me know. You don’t have to call anybody else. It is a boxing fight, and I’m the boss in the game. You are a great fighter Jon, but you are definitely no boxer. All the best, good luck!”
Jon Jones challenged Fury to an MMA fight after the WBC champion said no one could beat him. Jones also told Fury to call Dana White to arrange an MMA fight between the UFC heavyweight champion and the heavyweight boxing champion in a super fight. Upon careful reevaluation, Fury retracted his statements.
There have been plenty of fight rumors about Fury. Boxing promoter said that Fury, Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua, and Deontay Wilder could fight in a blockbuster event in Saudi Arabia. The negotiations are underway to complete the fight deal. On the other hand, Jon Jones will defend his title against Stipe Miocic. It is only a matter of when the UFC decides to book the bout.
