Paulo Costa has not fought since his victory over Luke Rockhold at UFC 278. Since then, he has been in a contract battle with the UFC that got resolved two weeks ago. UFC and Dana White remain focused on booking Costa vs Khamzat Chimeav for the UFC Abu Dhabi PPV card. However, in the meantime, Paulo Costa has remained active on Twitter, promoting his “Secret Juice” merchandise.

However, today he has given his take on the topic of fat shaming and body positivity on Twitter. Former MMA fighter Jake Shields and Journalist David Leavitt had a Twitter spat, with Shields criticising an overweight girl, while Leavitt wanted to “Cancel” Shields for his comments. However, Costa gave his take on the topic: “Once I miss weight, they fat shaming me and even fined me. I hate Fat people, but I liked her.”

Paulo Costa missed weight with a massive margin against Marvin Vettori when they fought in 2021. The fight was a Middleweight bout but became a 195 pounds catchweight fight, and later it became a Light Heavyweight contest. Fans expressed their anger at Costa during the sequence of events. Now, Costa has come out, pointing out the hypocrisy among fans regarding the weight.

Jake Shields retired from MMA in 2018 but continued his grappling career, where he last competed in 2021. Shields has been active on Twitter, criticising the Woke Left and Liberals in the political sphere. Shields believe that no one should promote body positivity as being overweight harms health. Journalist Leavitt disagreed, and Costa joined to give his take on the matter.

After missing weight in the bout against Nate Diaz, Khamzat Chimaev announced his move to the Middleweight division. Dana White announced that Chimaev would fight the top fighters in the division for his Middleweight return.

Reports emerged that Khamzat Chimaev would face Brazilian fighter Paulo Costa in his next fight. UFC and Dana White work towards making the fight as both fighters previously beefed in the UFC PI. Chimeav has not fought since his victory over Kevin Holland last year.

Costa returned to the winning column against Luke Rockhold after losing twice in a row against Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori. Either fighter can land the next title shot if they can get the victory. Fight fans look forward to the UFC announcing the fight for the Abu Dhabi card.
