Petr Yan recently defeated Song Yadong at UFC 299. At the post-fight press conference, he surprised the reporters with his much-improved English vocabulary and speech.

Petr Yan took up the mic at the post-fight press conference at UFC 299. While answering reporters’ questions about the fight, Yan’s vocabulary and fluency seemed to have significantly improved. One of the reporters took notice of this and complemented Yan and asked him who was teaching him English.

Petr Yan and Song Yadong fought at UFC 299 and Yan won the fight via unanimous decision. Yadong is a young 26-year-old contender. However, he has almost the same number of fights as the Russian. Their fight was a close one. Yan was able to control the pace of the fight and outstrike Yadong. He also scored two takedowns, which helped him to secure the decision. After the fight, Yan said that it was an important win for him and that he was back. Meanwhile, Yadong said that the fight did not go as expected and that he learned a lot. He promised to come back stronger in his next fight.

Petr Yan did not have the best run until this fight. The former bantamweight champion was on a three-fight skid. He lost his belt in his first title defense against Aljamain Sterling which was also his first loss in the UFC. He compensated it with a unanimous decision win over Cory Sandhagen before his skid began.

Petr Yan was not happy with his decision losses to Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley. He talked about it on the Kairouz Bros channel after his win at UFC 299.

Petr Yan claimed that the UFC wanted to break him mentally with those decision losses. He expressed his happiness after finally scoring a decision victory. Yan had last fought Merab Dvalishvili in March 2023. Talking about his comeback, Yan revealed that his goal is the same. He wants to fight for the title and says that he believes in himself and that he can beat everybody in his division.

Yan dropped a few names, saying that he wanted to take on Aljamain Sterling, Sean O’Malley, Marlon Vera, and others. Petr Yan accused Dana White of doing “bulls**t” for him. He also revealed that his son had told him he had to win one more title. Thus, it will be interesting to see what Yan does next after this win.
