Conor McGregor is well known for his lethal left hand and overall striking skills. McGregor was an unstoppable force in his prime with a Southpaw stance and aggressive temperament. The former UFC double champion has twenty-two professional wins out of which 19 came via knockouts. McGregor is one of those fighters who like to keep the fight on the feet and doesn’t really excel in grappling and submitting aspects of the game. During his iconic fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov, McGregor struggled a lot against the ‘Eagles’ unmatched grappling skills.
However, McGregor is not totally ineffective on the ground, he has learned his share of BJJ and has a brown belt. His one and only submission victory came at one of the most important times in his career. Back in 2012, when McGregor was making his way to the top of Cage Warriors, he fought Dave Hill for the featherweight championship. Throughout the fight, Hill was no match against the Irish. Hill shot a takedown and McGregor ended up in a dominating position and later took his back and ultimately won the fight via a rear naked choke.
Back then McGregor was motivated to become the best in the world and carried that momentum to UFC. He cruised through some of the most prominent opponents in the promotion and became a two-weight champion. However, currently McGregor is in a tight stint and has lost in two of his last bouts.

Jorge Masvdial claims Conor McGregor doesn’t want to fight him
Jorge Masvidal has been eyeing Conor McGregor’s fight for a long time now. The ‘Gamebred’ has utilized every form of trash-talking to get McGregor to sign the contract.
However, all of his actions have been proven futile and McGregor is yet to respond to them. In a recent interview with MMA Hour, Masvidal went on to reveal that he is ready to fight McGregor but the ‘Mystic Mac’ is scared. According to Masvidal, he’s bigger, quicker, and better than McGregor in every aspect and this is why the fighter won’t sign the UFC contract.
He said: “I want Conor, but Conor doesn’t want me. It sucks, you know? He just doesn’t want it. Every time the UFC’s brought it up, he shoots it down. I don’t know why. I think I’m bigger. I think I’m quicker than him, and we both know I hit harder than him.”
McGregor is expected to make a UFC comeback this year after he clears his record in the USADA testing pool. The fighter as expected doesn’t have any scarcity of potential opponents and Masvidal is not a bad choice. Both fighters are huge superstars and can bring in huge numbers for promotion. It will be interesting to see if this fight ever gets materialized.
