Said Nurmagomedov def Douglas Silva de Andrade at UFC Vegas 58
Rising prospect, Said Nurmagomedov (15-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) fought Douglas Silva de Andrade (28-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) on the main card of UFC Vegas 58.
Round 1 – Silva started the action with a solid body kick, Said ate that well, and attempted a spinning back kick but Silva caught it, and got his back. Said fought the hands, and kept the action on his feet, he got pressed up against the cage, and his opponent started woking from that clinch. Said got some distance between them, and landed a big Harai-Goshi that got his opponent to the ground.
Silva scrambled well, and got hit by a head kick, Said was throwing some heavy head kicks, but Silva kept his guard up to avoid any significant damage. Said was keeping Silva at the kicking range, and he knew he had to close the distance to get anything going. A jumping hook forced Said on his knee, but it wasn’t a knockdown. He utilized his kicks beautifully to finish the round strong.

Round 2 – Said was keeping Silva at the very end of his kicks, but he was fighting with a lot less volume. Silva very slowly started closing the distance, and he landed some nice punches, and missed fist from Silva presented a takedown opportunity for Said, he went for the double leg but Silva stuffed it. Both of them spun at the same time, but Silva’s backfist landed, and Said was down on the ground, Silva jumped in to finish the fight but his opponent survived.
Round 3 – Silva immediately got back to work, but Said recovered well, a missed back fast gave up his back, and Silva launched him through the air but Said got right back up. A nut shot from Silva temporarily halted the action and Said secured a takedown as soon as the round started. Silva scrambled well and got right back up.
Another missed spinning attack allowed Silva to take Said to the ground and Said laid on the mat waiting for Silva to engage, after a while Herb Dean got him right back up to get the action started. Silva went hot on his trail and finished the round strong.
