One of the most anticipated fights on UFC 277 was the heavyweight clash between the former title challenger, Derrick Lewis (26-9 MMA, 17-7 UFC) and surging prospect, Sergei Pavlovich (15-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC.)

Lewis holds the record for most knockouts inside the UFC octagon, but The Black Beast got knocked out by Tai Tuivasa in his last fight. Lewis made some significant changes in his fight camp, and he wanted to show his improved form against Sergei.

Round 1 – Sergei knew Derrick has dynamite in his hands, and he started putting immediate pressure on his opponent. He stayed right out of the boxing range, and he was closing the distance with little feints and some sick footwork. Derrick missed a big punch, Sergei jumped on the opportunity and hurt Derrick with a hand straight punch.

Derrick wobbled, and Sergei moved in for the kill, he dropped Derrick to his knees, and just as he was getting up the referee stepped in to stop the fight. Derrick protested the referee’s decision to stop the fight, but unfortunately for him, the fight was over.
