Colby Covington‘s recent comments about Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson caught the attention of the MMA community on social media. The UFC 296 press conference witnessed Covington also making offensive remarks about English fighters.

Colby Covington and Stephen Thompson had a little back-and-forth early in the UFC 296 press conference. This is when Colby Covington said: 

Hey, I got to be honest. Stephen shouldn't be on the top 10 list, he shouldn't be on the pound-for-pound list but he should be on the list that all the community knows about. I'm not saying he's a p*dophile but man, he checks all the boxes.

The list Colby alluded to was the infamous Jeffrey Epstein Client list. Meanwhile, Stephen Thompson said Leon Edwards will likely triumph over Covington in UFC 296. Thompson emphasized Edwards’ superior skill set, describing him as the better fighter, particularly praising his striking capabilities. Thompson suggested that Edwards has an advantage in versatility, citing his ability to throw various strikes as a key factor in the potential victory.
