Stipe Miocic and Jon Jones have been going back and forth on Twitter for some time now. Jones has accused Miocic of dodging him all of 2022 and now Miocic has clapped back with a recent tweet backed by UFC President Dana White.

MMA fans widely consider 40-year-old Stipe Miocic the best UFC heavyweight fighter of all time. Meanwhile, Jon Jones is also an ultimate specimen of a human being who came off of a 3-year layout to choke out Ciryl Gane and become the UFC Heavyweight Champion in his heavyweight debut.

During a press conference, Jones attacked Miocic by saying that Miocic should take time off from his firefighter job to train for their bout. Miocic responded by brushing aside the remarks and declaring he would speak in the octagon. Even if the fight wasn’t set in stone, both champions agreed to fight around summer at UFC 290. Dana White had neither confirmed nor rejected the proposed fight, saying, “These are the kinds of fights you dream about making.”

After winning at UFC 285, Jones called out Stipe Miocic and accused Miocic of ducking him. Miocic has not fought since UFC 260 in March 2021, but following Jones’ callout, the fighter tweeted out his willingness to fight the latest Heavyweight Champion.

Jones addressed back in March that he had been hearing rumors that the super fight between the two heavyweight giants may delay. Well now reportedly those rumors may turn out to be true. Jones vs. Miocic “won’t happen” at UFC 290 on July 8, according to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, and is “much more likely” to happen later in the fall.

When asked about Jon Jones, Dana White said, “Jon Jones came out, made quick work, and poof, disappeared.” “He [Jon Jones] is ready to fight. He wants Stipe, so we will get it figured out,” said White.

Stipe used this to get back at Jones, who accused him of ducking. “Weird… because last month you said I was the one running,Jones,” Miocic recently tweeted.
