Michael Chandler will be competing against Conor McGregor in the new edition of The Ultimate Fighter this year. The hype around this event is unmatched as McGregor is making his UFC comeback after two years. The Irishman was out of the game due to a leg injury and has been teasing his comeback since last year.
UFC finally made the official announcement that McGregor will coach against Chandler and in the end, both fighters will get to fight each other inside the octagon. Chandler has shown a great amount of interest as he always wanted to fight McGregor since his UFC debut. The former Bellator champion has already finalized members for his TUF team and it has some crazy surprises.
Chandler’s team includes UFC and current Bellator heavyweight champion, Ryan Bader to his team. Badar recently posted a picture of Chandler and the whole team on his official Instagram account. Bader has a record of 31-7(1) and has won the eighth season of TUF himself in the light heavyweight division.
Chandler has also included Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert and mixed martial artist, Robert Drysdale on his team. Someone who has great knowledge of grappling and submission games. Other coaches include Jason Strout of the Popular Sanford MMA Gym in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Another Sanford member, Greg Jones, will also join Chandler in TUF.

Conor McGregor’s coach thinks the Michael Chandler fight will be similar to the Chad Mendes one that McGregor fought in 2015
Michael Chandler seems to be fully occupied and ready to face Conor McGregor in their upcoming clash. The Irishman has also landed in the UFC APEX to film the show. As expected McGregor has also trained hard and has built a strategy for his comeback against Chandler.
During a recent interview with Sherdog, McGregor’s coach, Kavanagh compared Chandler to Chad Mendes. He said: “I think it could resemble a little bit the Mendes fight. Mendes was that style: blocky guy, big punches, big double legs. I think that’s how it could go. Conor has a good record against that kind of orthodox, stocky wrestlers with big overhand rights and big double legs. It’s an exciting one to prepare for. Chandler, he’s an excellent fighter, he’s got a great resume.”
It’s definitely going to be a massive event as both the fighters are entertainers and have the capability to sell massive pay-per-view events. Many are expecting this season of TUF to be one of the most thrilling ones in history.
