The tension between Sean O’Malley and Ryan Garcia went up as Suga’s coach Tim Welch trolls the boxer and his fight promoter, Oscar De La Hoya. Garcia has been running his mouth, calling for a potential MMA fight with O’Malley. Garcia even claimed he would beat O’Malley, be it boxing or MMA.

In his appearance on the MMA Hour show, Ryan Garcia spoke about his callout to Sean O’Malley. He brimmed with confidence and claimed he’d beat ‘Suga’ in an MMA bout. The clip went viral on X. As such, O’Malley’s coach Tim Welch jumped in to troll the boxer. Here is what he said:

Tim Welch has been Sean O’Malley’s coach even before he broke out as an UFC star. As such, he couldn’t help but fire back at Ryan Garcia. Recently, ‘Suga’ and Garcia had a brief back-and-forth on social media which spurred the talks of their potential match. As such, things seem to be growing. Earlier, O’Malley showed interest in fighting Devin Haney in a crossover bout but it never materialized. Also, he called out Garcia but the UFC put Suga’s boxing dreams to rest (for now).

Now, with Ryan Garcia willing to step into the octagon, there was a potential fight on UFC’s table. However, both the men have business to take care of. O’Malley faces rival Marlon Vera at UFC 299 in
March and ‘King RY’ will face the undefeated Devin Haney in April.

Ryan Garcia wants to train with UFC stars for his potential fight with Sean O’Malley

While many MMA fighters cross over to boxing, Ryan Garcia wanted to try his skills at MMA. As such, he called out Sean O’Malley, the current UFC bantamweight champion. Soon, things heated between the two parties with ‘Suga’ warning the boxer he would ‘Kill him’ in the octagon. However, ‘KingRY’ has a plan for his training camp, and he wants to train alongside UFC superstars.

Ryan Garcia, in his conversation with Ariel Helwani, claimed a three to four-month training camp would be enough to beat Sean O’Malley. As such, he devised a plan to train alongside UFC stars such as Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz, and Alex Pereira. Here is what he said:

Just give me three-four months of just MMA training, I'll go beat his as*. I told Nate (Diaz) to train me a little bit. I would even ask Conor (McGregor) to train with for a little bit. Every month would be a new coach - Conor, Alex Pereria, Nate and just somebody else.

However, everything depended on Ryan Garcia’s showdown in April. As such, he faces Devin Haney, an undefeated boxing star inside the squared circle. With a win, he was willing to cross over to MMA and fight Sean O’Malley in one of the biggest fights.
